June 7, 2008   Hard Work Pays Off - Angola Speedway

Coming off of a couple second place finishes, one with the USA Mods at Salem and a second place finish with the mods at M40 Speedway, we decide to make a trip to Angola Speedway and race with the USA Mod series again. First hot lap session found us to be 7th quick out of over 30 mods. But things changed after that, our fuel pump started leaking and sprayed oil all over the entire car. We had to change the fuel pump, clean the car and make some changes on the car before qualifying. We had a terrible qualifying lap and that caused us to have to race the last chance race. We started 10th and managed to battle to a 6th place finish, which put us in the main event. The race was 100 laps with a fuel stop at mid point (50 laps). The first 50 laps saw us come from last to 15th but we had suspension damage from another car when they checked up on a wreck in front of us. So we pitted and changed the damage tire and adjusted the toe. We came out in last and battled back to 7th in the final 50 laps. Overall, not a bad finish considering all of the work we had to go through. Special thanks to Steve Brown (car owner), Richard Rieter and Jerry Zordan crew.

Salem Speedway - What a Blast!

Well, we completed our first modified race of the year, after a few rain outs we finally got to race, and it was at one of the most challenging race tracks in the country, Salem Speedway on April 26th. This track is banked the same as Daytona and is banked a whopping 33 degree, you can barely walk up the huge banking. The best of the best were there to compete in the USA Modified Series. The first practice proved that we had a lot to learn about this race track, being the first time that I had ever been there in a mod. Even though it was our first time, our car was really good and posted the 13th fastest time. After practice, I went around talking to a few veterans and watching the different grooves that the local racers ran in and figured I needed to be about 2” from the wall, all the way around turn 3 and 4. The second practice proved that I had learned something, because we ended up 4th quick out of the entire field. We made a few changes to the stagger and qualified 5th quick. Though out the day was pretty eventful for me, as I had 4 different racers brake right in front of me going about 130 miles per hour and I managed to miss all of them. One racer blew his motor, one blew a power steering line, one broke a ball joint and one seized up a wheel bearing, which proved that this track is very hard on equipment. I started the race in the inside line and wasn’t the place to be as I lost a few spots until I was able to move up into the high groove. Once there, I was able to battled back to finish 2nd in the race and our best finish, racing with the USA Modifies. Big thanks to Richard Reiter my crew chief and spotter, along with John Long and his crew for helping us. Thanks Mike Zordan

Spring 2008

Hello, Race fans……….yep, its time for the racing. I put up the snowmobiles, its spring time!  My modified has been started up and ready to go. Our newest mod has been completed and already hit the track for some testing, Jeff Ganus, our newest member to the team, says it’s a rocket ship. Our SuperLate has been updated to the newest motor combo and after a little clean up, it’s ready for the track as well. We have tested it as well. We also have a dirt car that will be hitting the high banks of Hartford Speedway this year.

I haven’t been this excited and prepared for the season to come in many years. We have some really exciting new tracks to race at this year. Toledo, Salem, Winchester and Berlin are some of these great tracks. Check out the schedule to see when we will be racing and where!  We have a new shock package this year and with the help of John Long Racing and his shock dyno.  With these changes we should be able to fit the last of the pieces of the puzzle together to make us a real competitive race team. We are still looking for that primary sponsor to put us over the edge and compete full time and run for the point championship. Hope to see ya at the track, thanks Mike

December 2007

Gentlemen, Start your engines!!!!!! Only a few months away to hear those exciting words. Say tuned for the release of our 2008 schedule.

I'm proud to tell you, this is the first newsletter for the newly formed race team. I'm also proud of all the hard work that every person has put into this team. After a gruelling full days work at our nomal jobs, we go home to our passion, and that is building a wining race team. Step by step, not just the boys, we have Ma's and Pa's, wives and kids, brothers and sisters, and we would like to thank all of them.

Were hoping our Race for Kids charity program will take off. Maybe someday we will race against other race drivers, such as Tony Stewart, who has similar programs, such as Habitat for Humanity, along with other drivers, such as Jeff Gorden and Dale Earnhardt Jr. They also had to start somewhere, and I believe our team has the heart and passion, and is heading in the right direction and always keeping family first!!!!!

Presently, we want to promote our current sponsors in the best way possible. All of our sponsors have made this race team happen and we would like to thank each and every one of them. Our goal is to increase business for all sponsors and support the people who support our racing team. We encourage all people to "pass the word" and help each other, by sending business towards our sponsors. We would like to introduce all of our current sponsors. In up and coming newsletters, our sponsors may have special events, along with special discounts on merchandise or services. Please take advange of the benefits that our sponsors are offering.

Thanks to all involved and were hoping to see you all at the races. Let's go racing!!!!!!!

We have recently built a small block chevy with over 650 horsepower, with speeds reaching over 120mph twice a lap on a very short 3/8 mile track, this calls for some exciting close racing. Heck, put a wing on those cars and you would see, lift off. Nothing beats a night of short track racing, so come join us in victory lane!!!!!!!!!
